Lena Tsodykovskaya is a Los Angeles based film, television and commercial director keen on visually-stylized stories that pack an emotional punch.

In her short form work, Lena explores acts of emotional support through storytelling, by striving to portray authentic characters and unique subjects often sidelined by society.  In her long form work, Lena dives into the much darker sides of our world, exploring stories driven by complex characters easily labeled or judged.  She aims to build an emotional bridge between these characters and the audience, while keeping stories grounded, visually engaging and genre-driven.

A granddaughter of a military general who spent his free time diving into photography and film, Lena carries over that unique combination of strict organization and creative ingenuity.  In fact, she started her career as a photographer for MTV to then receive an MFA in Film Directing from Columbia University and going off to build a career in advertising and narrative storytelling, having her films play at global festivals like Beyond Fest, Sitges, Kustendorf and HollyShorts, among others.  Black and white film photography remains her way of communicating the love for the surrounding world to her audience.

At the moment, Lena is working on a handful of short documentary projects while preparing for her first narrative feature film “Bitsy” and a documentary feature film “Seabird.”
